Some of you living in New York and New Jersey may notice your iPhones getting faster in download speeds.  This is because AT&T announced that they are adding more wireless spectrum at 1,600 cell sites in those areas. Giving New York City more wireless spectrum was inevitable because it is the most populated city in the U.S.

“AT&T’s ongoing investment to build broadband networks helps to create jobs, fuel economic growth and enable our customers to quickly access the content that matters most to them,” stated AT&T VP of External Affairs Jay Summerson in a press release. “Our customers have embraced smartphones and upgrades like the additional 3G spectrum deployment allow them to enjoy the benefits of these devices and mobile broadband for years to come.
