Verizon recently launched a new USB modem called the UMW190.  This USB modem will work anywhere in the world.  And Verizon promised that this modem will give them a 3G Internet connection everywhere too.  The modem works on a dual-band CDMA/Tri-Band UMTS/HSPA and quad-band GSM.  The modem will cost $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two year agreement.
