Bwin Buys Out Gioco Digitale

Bwin Interactive Entertainment has announced that they intend to acquire Giogo Digitale.  Gioco is an Italy-based gaming website.  The boards and shareholders of both companies agreed to the acquisition.  There is still a binding agreement to be made for the acquisition to be completed.  The financial details were undisclosed, but Daniel Stewart & Company analyst James Hollins predicted the acquisition to be worth about $143 million (100 million Euros).

Bwin has designed sports betting, casino, poker, and other betting games in about 25 different markets.  Bwin’s games can be accessed through the Internet and mobile phones.  Some of Bwin’s websites include Bwin.com and pokerroom.com.  Bwin made it clear that they were interested in online gambling in Italy according to previous quarterly report.
