Intel Making An App Store For Atom-Based Netbooks

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) CEO Paul Otellini announced yesterday at the IDF event in San Francisco, CA that netbooks powered by Atom processors will eventually have an application store. Intel itself is working on a framework that for clients to host and build applications. Otellini also announced the Intel Atom Developer Program. The applications will start to become available on netbooks, but then they will be ported over to other Atom-powered mobile Internet devices.
