The problem with searching for videos on YouTube and Hulu is that they heavily depend on the tags associated with them. AnyClip is a startup that is building a solution to this problem. They are building a searchable database of movies that is connected to data available on the web.

The data available on the web includes actresses and actors along with plots of the movies. AnyClip even has people around the world contributing meta tags for the movies in the AnyClip database. Each film already has about 500+ tags.

AnyClip announced their public API for developers to use to query the database at the TechCrunch50 conference. AnyClip has 20 employees and is based in New York City, NY. AnyClip was co-founded by Aaron Cohen, Nate Westheimer, Michael P. Schulhof, and Erel N. Margalit.

YouTube User Lgvoyagerguy Sent 662,258 AT&T Text Messages In One Month [Video]

Unlimited text messaging on AT&T is about $20 per month as an add-on to phone plans. And this guy has made the most out of his unlimited plan by sending 662,258 text messages in a single month. How he pulled it off, I have no idea. Clearly the guy has a lot of time on his hands, but he broke the previous record of about 300,000.

Because YouTube user Lgvoyagerguy did not opt-out of paper bills from AT&T, the company ended up sending him a 13,000 page bill. I don’t think I used that much paper in 4 years of high school and all of college.

Pete Cashmore of Mashable pointed out that this is an ambitious feat and there is reason to be skeptical. On average, about 22,075 text messages had to be sent per day to accomplish the feat. One way it could have been pulled off is by signing up for tons of SMS alert services that are automated. If this is the case, then should this guy be given credit for beating the record? Let us know in the comments. It would be an interesting discussion.

Robo.to is bringing sexy back, or at least Justin Timberlake thinks so because he invested in the company. Robo.to allows users to create 4 second video statuses and share it with Twitter followers. The weird part of Robo.to is that audio isn’t allowed. That is just an odd concept.

The service was launched two months ago and they have launched a new service called TV Mode. TV Mode is a way to find out what topics are trending on Robo.to. There is an aggregate view of 4 second quiet clips and reveals the text that accompanies the videos.

Since the company launched in August, about 20,000 users signed up with the service. About 100,000 Robo.to videos have been created thus far. The website received 350,000 unique visitors in August and there were 1.5 million Robo.to video views.

Ann Minch is a popular YouTube user that launched a revolution against Bank of America. She called the revolution a “Debtors’ Revolt.” Minch said that on the YouTube video that she refuses to pay her credit card bill because of an unfair interest rate hike. It turns out that Bank of America has reduced her rate as a result of the one-woman protest.

Minch said that a Bank of America representative contacted her on Friday and they had the following conversation as described by Minch.

“He asked me to talk a little about my personal financial situation so we can negotiate some kind of agreement in regard to my existing credit card account,” stated Minch. The B of A executive “tried to get me to agree to 16.99 percent and I said, ‘No, nope, I believe because you guys are getting your money from the Fed at zero percent interest… that 12.99 percent is a more than generous profit margin for you guys.’ So he did finally agree to that and he also agreed to send me that in writing.”

The first video made by Minch of the Debtors’ Revolt has been viewed about 250,000 times. The Huffington Post broke the story about the video and the resolution.

Minch’s credit card balance is about $5,943.34. “Just because my personal account situation has apparently been resolved, which is a small victory for this debtors’ revolt movement, we still have a war to fight,” added Minch.

One of the problems with most RSS readers is that everything looks very cluttered once you have many subscriptions going at once. This is a problem that Fresh Sliced News addresses with their new desktop reader, powered by Adobe AIR. Fresh Sliced News makes your RSS subscriptions more presentable using their software.

After downloading the software you can create different “sections” (tabs) such as Technology, Food, and Fashion. The idea is similar to AllTop, an “online magazine rack” started by Guy Kawasaki. However Fresh Sliced News limits you to 140 news websites and blogs. Fresh Sliced News uses PostRank technology to determine how to present your online newspaper. If you read more about food regularly, then Fresh Sliced News will show you more articles about food. If your mouse hovers above an article, then a pop up will appear with additional content connected to the article.

Fresh Sliced News started in San Francisco, CA in May 2009. The company was founded by Elon Danziger and Yelena Rubinshteyn. The company launched at the DemoPit of TechCrunch50.
