Social networking gaming company Zynga has raised $15.18 million as an extension to their second round of funding. The company has 196 million users on Facebook playing their games. Zynga previously raised $40 million in venture capital from Kleiner Perkins, Avalon Ventures, Foundry Group, Institutional Venture Partners, and Union Square Ventures.

Zynga’s most recent game FarmVille is the most played game on Facebook as of today. Zynga is believed to be making $100 million in revenues this year. However the company had offers within the games that were often scams as admitted by Zynga CEO Mark Pincus.

For example, users could get more poker chips if they downloaded the Zwinky toolbar. “We did anything possible just to just get revenues so that we could grow and be a real business…So control your destiny. So that was a big lesson, controlling your business. So by the time we raised money we were profitable,” stated Pincus.

Everything was going casually at the Microsoft Store in Mission Viejo, California but all of a sudden “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas started playing on the speakers and all of the employees started doing a synchronized dance. The staff at the store looked like they were having a ball while doing the dance. Other blogs are calling the dance creepy but I honestly think that these employees are having more fun than Apple store employees right about now. As a matter of fact the Microsoft Store experience is one of the reasons why Brad Slavin has decided to go back to a PC from a Mac.

Verizon has responded to AT&T’s lawsuit claiming that the “There’s a map for that” line of advertisements are true. AT&T claims that the Verizon’s map is false and has been seeking a restraining order against the ads.

“AT&T now is attempting to silence Verizon’s ads that include maps graphically depicting the geographic reach of AT&T’s 3G network as compared to Verizon’s own 3G network because AT&T does not like the truthful picture painted by that comparison,” states the filing by Verizon.

Tila Tequila started off as a MySpace sensation and then made her way to her own TV show called A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila. Through her MySpace friends and her TV show fans, Tequila gained a large following which ended up becoming her Twitter followers too.

Tequila is suing Merriman for assault, battery, and false imprisonment during a fight at Merriman’s house. Tequila argues that Merriman argued with her over his drug use and disrespect towards women. Merriman claims that Tequila was drunk and he was trying to prevent her from driving. Tequila said that Merriman shook her like a “rag doll,” choked her, and threw her onto a couch.

Tequila said that being thrown against the couch caused damage to her neck, arms, and back. After the jump is a picture that Tequila is using in the court case that displays bruises to her body.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) made deals with companies such as Porsche and Pepsi that will enable the companies to integrate their brand into the operating system. The branding may include borders and sounds.

The advertisements could also extend to the Internet Explorer 8 browser that comes with Windows 7. Internet Explorer 8 would have add-ons that link to the homepage of the brand. There is also a version of Office called Office 2010 Starter Edition which is limited and is funded by advertisements.

Interestingly Apple Inc. filed a patent recently that revolves around advertising on an operating system. The operating system would limit functions until the advertisement is done.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has become the top selling game by selling 9.4 million copies in five days and bringing in $600 million in revenue. This is even higher than Grand Theft Auto IV. The game was so popular that Xbox LIVE hit 2 million simultaneous players at once shortly after the game was released.

However the game was banned in Russia because of a controversial scene in which the main character kills civilians in a Russian airport. The mission is called “No Russian.” Activision agreed to remove this mission in copies that they ship to Russia.
