iPad.com and the Mystery of Enero 6 Corp. [Screenshot]

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced their latest product today, the iPad.  Generally companies make sure to own the domain name of a product or service that they offer.  Apple owns iPod.com and bought Me.com from a company called Snappville.com. However iPad.com is owned by a company called Enero 6 Corporation according to the website.  Apple bought the domain name iSlate.com about a year ago which led people to believe that this would be the name of the new device.

At the bottom of the screenshot you will notice that the website is owned by Enero 6 Corp.  Enero means January in Spanish which is the same month that the iPad was launched. Enero 6 may stand for January 6th. Coincidentally Apple and Steve Jobs had some milestones around that date:

January 6, 1998 – Steve Jobs announces that the company will show a $45 million profit for the first quarter of fiscal year 1998
January 6, 2000 – Steve Jobs announces OS X.
January 6, 2002 – Apple announced the iMac with 15″ LCD.
January 6, 2004 – Apple announced iLife 2004 and iPod Mini at Macworld
January 6, 2005 – Bill Gates was giving a presentation at CES and Windows froze.
January 5, 2009 – Steve Jobs said he would not be at MacWorld because he wanted to spend time with family.
January 6, 2009 – iTunes becomes DRM free.

TalkGOD TV Show In U.K. Gets Rick Roll’d [VIDEO]

I’ve seen some funny Rickrollings in my day, but this one is one of the most epic. It features a show in the UK called TalkGOD receiving an e-mail that says “I think there is a real shame that there is cynicism directed towards this channel which only wants to help fellow members of the flock. When will people learn that God will never give them up, never let them down, never run around, or hurt them?” The e-mail reader agreed wholeheartedly with the e-mail until he found out that he just got Punk’d.

Bill Gates Joins Twitter, Launches Facebook Page, and Bing Might Become Default iPhone Search

The richest man in the world Bill Gates has embraced social media once again.  This is his second attempt as his first try was somewhat difficult due to all the requests he received.

Last summer Bill Gates created a Facebook account and he received tons of friend requests, pokes, etc.  I poked him on Facebook too, that probably did not help the situation.  He had to quit Facebook as a result.

Now Bill Gates has launched his own Facebook Page.  This allows him to participate on Facebook without the hassle of having to deal with friend requests hitting his e-mail inbox.  Gates has already uploaded pictures from a recent trip to India on his Facebook Page.  Facebook verified that this was his account.

Gates is embracing Twitter now too.  Twitter has verified that the account BillGates belongs to the Microsoft co-founder.  In less than one day Bill Gates amassed over 200,000 followers.  Gates’ first tweet was: “Hello World.” Hard at work on my foundation letter – publishing on 1/25.  Some of the people that Gates is following on Twitter include Ashley Tisdale, Ina Fried (CNET), the UNICEF account, Steven Levy, Rania Al Abdullah, Vinod Khosla, Ryan Seacrest, Ashton Kutcher, TechCrunch, Kara Swisher, Barack Obama, Hans Rosling, Chris Anderson (TED), and Nicholas Kristof.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is also reportedly talking to Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) about adding Bing.com as the default search for the iPhone.  Google has largely benefited from being the default search engine for Apple.  But the relationship between Google and Apple has become quite tumultuous since Eric Schmidt was let go from the Apple Board of Directors, Apple rejected the Google Voice iPhone application, and Google announced their own operating system.  The news about the talks between Microsoft and Apple was reported by a source with Bloomberg.
