Above is an infographic design to compare the Apple iPad vs. the JooJoo vs. the Amazon.com Kindle DX vs. the HP Slate.  Since the HP Slate specs have not been released yet, I had to base the information on speculation and rumors.  This infographic and blog post will be updated upon the actual date of the HP Slate.

Apple iPad looks a better option..

The chart is incomplete and incorrect. For instance the iPAD doesn't have GPS. The HP slate is not 7″, You put no Apps for HP Slate? Are you smoking horse shit? It runs Windows 7, it has the most apps.

I appreciate the feedback, but I'm looking at it in a certain context. The 3G iPad has AGPS built in. It has the ability to geolocate where you are based on the location of your device.

The source for my HP Slate screen size was on another gadget blog post that is now deleted so I changed it on the infographic too.

And lastly, the HP Slate has no App Store as far as I know. Of course you can download any Windows friendly apps on it just like any other PC.

  4. How open is the Kindle? Are you just restricted to a subset of applications that run it's sdk, or could you run generic GTK+ apps?

I actually do not know the answer to that question. If any Kindle owners read this comment, please answer Jim's question.

Of course the HP Slate has no App Store, it runs windows 7. If anything it should get bonus points for not needing an app store and can being able to run any window application downloaded from the web.

And where oh where is Microsoft's putative Courier going to nestle?

  9. Phil says:

As much as I normally dislike Apple's power to price ratio, it looks like the iPad has won this round. Really good specs for the price. Phil from wedding toasting flutes
