Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has decided to ban almost all applications related to pornography. Over the past week Apple sent out a notice to developers telling them that their applications will no longer be sold on the App Store. In the letter sent, Apple points out that “overtly sexual content” will not be allowed going forward. On The Go Girls had 17 applications removed which was about half of the applications that they released. Jens Ltd. has only about one application remaining. Even Maxim had some of their applications removed.

My opinion on the situation is that the Apple application store has its risks. When these developers plugged these applications into a market that Apple has full control of it, they are taking on a risk. Apple makes the rules and we as developers must abide by them if we plan to capitalize on the market.

Disclaimer: Pulse2 LLC sells over 20 applications on the Apple App Store.
