McAfee Stinger is a Windows-only program that helps you get rid of those annoying fake alert pop-ups.  This is usually disguised as a program trying to be helpful, but is actually malware.  McAfee Stinger comes with a list of malware that it can remove.  Those of you that have Windows Vista and Windows XP may have to disable System Restore to use the software.
