Mobile social network Foursquare has announced a new milestone. They have hit 725,000 users and have hit about 22 million check-ins. Foursquare especially gained popularity at the South by Southwest (SXSW).

Foursquare is a service where you “check-in” to a restaurant, bar, or other establishment. The more you check-in using the service, the more likely you are to receive a virtual badge. If you visit a place a certain number of times, then you get the “Mayor” badge for that venue. Once you actually try it out, you might become hooked right away or not get it at all.
