eBay To Sell $1.5 Billion Of Goods On Mobile Devices, Rename Kijiji To eBay Classifieds

eBay Inc. (NASDAQ:EBAY) has launched two new iPhone applications to make the service simple for buyers and sellers to participate on-the-go.  eBay said that they expect to sell about $1.5 billion worth of goods on mobile devices in 2010.  eBay is available in about 190 countries across eight languages.

The app has been downloaded about 8 million times and one item is purchased on eBay mobile every 2 seconds.  eBay also will have an iPad app ready as soon as the device launches. Aside from eBay’s mobile app, the company has also launched another app to complement eBayClassifieds.com.  eBay is renaming their classifieds website from Kijiji to eBay Classifieds.  It is Kijiji that caused eBay and craigslist to get into a heated legal battle.
