I.B.M. is giving incentives to start-ups as part of their Smarter Planet strategy. I.B.M. announced that they will be giving free access to their software for three years for companies that have been in business for less than 3 years and comply with I.B.M.’s Smarter Planet. The start-ups could focus on improving the efficiency of energy use, water management, transportation and health care according to The New York Times. The companies must be private too.
