Steve Riggio is no longer the CEO of bookseller company Barnes & Noble.  He is being replaced by William Lynch, the President of BN.com.  Riggio will be the Vice Chairman of Barnes & Noble going forward. [TechCrunch]

Mafia leader Pasqual Manfredi was Facebook chatting when his secret hideout apartment was raided by police officers. Police officers were able to track him through Facebook. Manfredi’s nickname is Scarface. He is being charged with multiple counts of murder and drug violations. In one of the murders, there was a portable rocket launcher involved. Police are also investigating Manfredi’s 200 Facebook friends to see if they can find other leads to Mafia members.

Yelp and Epipheo Studios worked together on a video that explains how the filtering process works. Yelp has a reputation to protect as they are facing lawsuits that involve extortion. Below is a video of how it works:

Ryan Seacrest sent out a message at 8:43PM on Wednesday before American Idol started to his 3 million-plus Twitter followers.  He wrote “Packed radio show tomorrow…got tonight’s voted-off idol lacey brown.” The problem is that American Idol fans did not know that Lacey was going to be voted off yet.  

That episode was given a 6.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic which was one of the lowest among Idol’s regularly scheduled broadcasts.  Was it because of Seacrest’s tweets?  Possibly. [Variety]

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) announced that they are planning to invest £1.5 billion ($2.3 billion) across their four facilities in the U.K.  The investment will be made over the next 5 years.  They made this announcement after securing a £360 million ($549 million) loan. [egmCarTech]

Brian Transeau (BT) announced on Twitter that Square is a “game changer for a musician.”  He thanked Square co-founder Jack Dorsey for the technology. Square launched on December 1, 2009 and was given an instant valuation of $40 million. 

Failblog is one of my most favorite blogs to look at funny pictures and watch funny videos. In one of their latest videos, there is a montage of failures that involves St. Patrick’s Day and drinking. Some of the viral gold in the montage includes the guy that struggles to get up after taking beer out of the freezer and the leprechaun hunt in Mobile, Alabama.
