Facebook is changing the “Become A Fan” to a button that involves the button “Like.” Facebook users will soon start liking brands rather than becoming a fan. This may be because people click “Like” about two times more than they click “Become a Fan.” On Facebook’s current system, when you click “Become A Fan,” the brand’s feed appears on the homepage of the Facebook user. Travel search engine Kayak.com has sold off hotel information website TravelPost.com. TravelPost.com was sold to an online travel startup company that was founded by former Expedia employees. The new startup is called by NewTravelco. NewTravelco. raised about $9.8 million earlier this month. [paidContent]

Symantec has named Shaoxing, China the malware capital. That city accounts for more targeted attacks than any other city. About 30% of all targeted malware attacks and not all malicious email come from China. Targeted attacks account for only 0.02% of all malicious email traffic. Of that 30%, 21.3% is from Shaoxing itself.

Quora is a startup founded by former Facebook employees. Quora has raised a new round of funding, led by Benchmark Capital. Former Facebook exec Matt Cohler has joined the board of directors at Quora too. Benchmark’s investment gives Quora an $86 million valuation. Quora went in private beta on January 4, 2010. Quora was founded by Adam D’Angelo and Charlie Cheever. [TechCrunch]

Hostway is a server management company that has just raised $110 million in debt and equity financing from several investors. Hostway is based in Chicago, Illinois and they plan to use the money for growth purposes. The investment was provided by Veronis Suhler Stevenson, Fortress Capital, Regiment Capital, and Phoenix Life. Hostway has about 600,000 customers.
“With a sound infrastructure in place and forecasted growth far exceeding projected GDP growth annually in the managed hosting, collocation and cloud computing segments over the next three years, Hostway is well-positioned to capture further market share,” stated Veronis partner George Cole. There is now file transferring capabilities when using iGoogle and orkut. File transfer will soon be released on GMail Chat too. This means that you can transfer files with your Google buddies without having to attach them in an e-mail. Under the Actions menu, there is an option that says Send A File. No word yet on when it will be available on GMail. [Google Blog]
