Rumor: Yahoo Considering To Offer $100M For Foursquare

The merger and acquisitions department at Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is considering whether they should offer to buy out Foursquare for about $100 million according to a banker source with Gawker. A Yahoo!-owned Foursquare would make sense for the search company as they have a major focus on mobile strategies. Yahoo! has not made any major acquisitions since Delicious and Flickr.

Dennis Crowley, founder of Foursquare said that he only sold his first startup Dodgeball to Google because “We couldn’t get any funding.” Now it appears that there is a bidding war for funding Foursquare. [Gawker]
