Artists Suing Google For Copyright Infringement

There is a group of photographers and artists have accused Google for copyright infringement in a lawsuit. The photographers’ complaint is similar to a lawsuit that authors have filed against Google.

The lawsuit was filed at the U.S. District Court in Manhattan. The photographer group is seeking $150,000 in damages for each of the thousands of photographs.

“Google Books is an historic effort to make all of the knowledge contained within the world’s books searchable online,” responded company spokesperson Gabriel Stricker. “It exposes readers to information they might not otherwise see, and it provides authors and publishers with a new way to be found.” [Huffington Post]
