RIM Acquires In-Vehicle Systems Company QNX Software

Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM) has acquired QNX Software Systems from Harman International. The acquisition will enable a seamless integration of RIM technology into in-vehicle systems. RIM also recently acquired BlackBerry application development company Viigo. QNX is based in Ottawa, Ontario around 1980. In 2004 QNX was acquired by Harman. QNX has licensed their technology to 17 million in-vehicle systems recently. This is a 130% increase since 2008. [TechCrunch]
