Greycroft Partners Raises $130.7 Million For Their Digital Media Fund

Venture capital company Greycroft Partners has raised $130.7 million for a digital media fund called Greycroft II. Greycroft will invest between $500K and $5 million into firms through the new fund. Greycroft has invested in companies such as blog paidContent, Crowdfusion, and Sometrics. [soCalTech]

Today is Twitter’s conference called Chirp and they have announced some exciting things at the conference. Twitter has started to add geo-location as a feature by adding a map. Geotweets currently include the longitude and latitude of where tweets are being sent from. When tweeting from a location that is popular, it is called a Point of Interest. It is unlikely that they will have a check-in feature to compete with Foursquare and Gowalla.

Adobe Preparing Major Lawsuit Against Apple [RUMOR]

Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) are not on good terms right now. Apple does not allow Adobe Flash on any of their devices nor are they allowing developers to use Adobe’s newest software Creative Suite 5 for submitting applications on the App Store. That was going to be a key selling point for Adobe’s new line of products. Now rumor has is that Adobe is going to sue Apple.
Apple argues that Flash hurts performance on the iPad and the iPhone. Apple App Store developers are currently used to programming apps using Objective C. TweetPhoto Raises $2.6 Million In Series A

TweetPhoto, a competitor of TwitPic and a company that encourages you to share pictures over Twitter has raised $2.6 million in Series A. The lead investor was Canaan Partners. Additional investment was provided by Anthem Venture Partners, Qualcomm, Tim Kelly, Frank Asaro, Shane Brisbane, and Jack Corrao.
Palm Approached Huawei Technologies For Preliminary Acquisition Talks [RUMOR]

Earlier this week we reported about how Palm, Inc. (NASDAQ:PALM) is looking for acquisition bidders. Palm has been burning money every month and their devices have not been selling as much as hoped. Now the latest rumor is that Palm approached Chinese company Huawei Technologies for preliminary acquisition talks. Palm approached Huawei’s investment bank regarding the deal according to a source with Reuters. [Reuters]

Ford Launches Online Suggestion Box

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has launched a new website called Your Ideas. Your Ideas serves as a Suggestion Box for consumers to leave feedback. Your Ideas is also a hub for automotive ideas that allow submission, sharing, reviewing, and rating.
“Ford continues to push the envelope when it comes to engaging consumers in what’s next for Ford cars and trucks,” stated Ford President of The Americas Mark Fields. “We are going beyond traditional consumer market research, studies and focus groups. App Shows Foursquare Reviews From Jersey Shore Characters [FIST-PUMP]

There is a new iPhone application called the Jersey Shore City Guide. The application is fully integrated with FourSquare and it features characters from MTV hit show The Jersey Shore. The app lets you access reviews left by the characters themselves about the establishments that they visit. The app costs $0.99 and is available now [iTunes link]
