Enough of the Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) Nexus One mobile phones are being sold so that Google makes a profilt. Google also announced that Android is a major reason why the company is reporting some positive financial results. About 60,000 Google Android devices are being activated on a daily basis which comes out to be about 22 million per year. Groupon is in the process of raising a new round of funding that would give them a $1.35 billion valuation. Groupon offers daily deals across several cities every day only if a certain number of people sign up. If not enough people sign up, nobody gets the deal.
Venture capital company Greycroft Partners has raised $130.7 million for a digital media fund called Greycroft II. Greycroft will invest between $500K and $5 million into firms through the new fund. Greycroft has invested in companies such as blog paidContent, Crowdfusion, and Sometrics. [soCalTech]

Today is Twitter’s conference called Chirp and they have announced some exciting things at the conference. Twitter has started to add geo-location as a feature by adding a map. Geotweets currently include the longitude and latitude of where tweets are being sent from. When tweeting from a location that is popular, it is called a Point of Interest. It is unlikely that they will have a check-in feature to compete with Foursquare and Gowalla.
Tomorrow is Tax Day in the United States. It is the day where tax returns are due to the federal and state governments from U.S. citizens, resident aliens, etc. April 15 has been Tax Day since 1955. The tax system in the U.S. can be quite complex so Pulse2 decided to compile a list of infographics that shows some interesting facts about it. Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) are not on good terms right now. Apple does not allow Adobe Flash on any of their devices nor are they allowing developers to use Adobe’s newest software Creative Suite 5 for submitting applications on the App Store. That was going to be a key selling point for Adobe’s new line of products. Now rumor has is that Adobe is going to sue Apple.
Apple argues that Flash hurts performance on the iPad and the iPhone. Apple App Store developers are currently used to programming apps using Objective C.
