Most People Sign Up For Twitter, But Don’t Know What To Do Next [RESEARCH]

Edison Research has conducted a study on Twitter and has revealed some very interesting stats. The stats include that only a minority of Americans (7%) continue to use Twitter after signing up. About 87% of Americans are aware of Twitter and Facebook’s awareness has a slightly higher awareness at 87%. The study was conducted in February 2010 and about 1,753 people were polled as the sample size ages 12 and up. “Despite equal awareness, Twitter trails Facebook significantly in usage: 7% of Americans (17 million persons) actively use Twitter, while 41% maintain a profile page on Facebook,” states the report.
