Apple Files For Patent On “Seamlessly Embedded Heart Rate Monitor”

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has filed a new patent application that would identify a user’s heart rhythm through a biometric sensor. Sensors would be embedded into a special case for the iPhone. When the owner of the iPhone picks it up, it would recognize that person and let him or her in. That is some pretty interesting stuff — if the patent goes through, then there is no telling what else Apple could do with this technology.
