Google Latitude Has 3 Million Active Users

Google’s Steve Lee announced at the Web 2.0 Expo that Google’s location-based service Google Latitude has 3 million active users. Currently the service can show where a Google users is on a Google Map and there has been hints of adding a check-in feature. About 8 million people signed up upon launch. Google Latitude has grown 30% per month every month in the past year. Over 10% of all Android users are using Google Latitude. Steve Lee said that one of the reasons why Latitude did not take off was because there wasn’t very good iPhone support. [TechCrunch]
