Barnes and Noble Launching Self Publishing Service: PubIt

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) is launching an online publishing service called PubIt. Expected to start this summer, PubIt will allow authors to contribute work through Barnes & Noble’s website and digital bookstore. No word yet on the revenue sharing agreement.

However Barnes & Noble said that authors that self publish through PubIt will be able to broadcast their material to readers who use the Book and ePub, the company’s electronic book standard. [InformationWeek]
