Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has acquired location-based service Koprol. It is an Asian version of Foursquare. Koprol is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Koprol also lets you check-in to locations through mobile phones. The service is a web application so smartphones are not needed. However Koprol recently announced a Blackberry application.
