Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is being investigated by the Justice Department for their digital music tactics. The antitrust inquiry is currently in early stages according to The New York Times.

Investigators are curious about whether Apple used their dominant market position to persuade music companies to refuse to give Amazon.com exclusive access to music that would be released soon. Supposedly representatives from Apples iTunes music service asked music labels not to participate in Amazon.com’s MP3 Daily Deal promotion.

Adobe also had the government involved in their dispute with Apple over the refusal to allow Flash support on the iPod and iPhone. Adobe initiated The Federal Trade Commission investigation for Apple’s developer rules who create apps on the iPhone operating system. [New York Times]
