Apple’s Market Cap Surpasses Microsoft Today

At the end of the stock market day, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) came out with a higher market capitalization than Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) The market capitalization of a business is based on the share price times the number of shares outstanding of a public company.  Considering that Microsoft and Apple are around the $200 billion mark, they are considered to be “Mega-cap.”  Apple’s market cap is at $222.07 billion and Microsoft is at $219.18 billion.
