Facebook has announced newer and simpler privacy controls. While Facebook doesn’t plan to remove the dozens of privacy options for customizing the ability to view certain photos and profile divisions, the company is adding one simple control for changing content viewing permissions. This one simple control will set specifically for friends-only, friends-of-friends, or everyone. There is also a simple way to determine how people can find you on Facebook and what users that are not your friend can see. Facebook will also have a simple way to turn off the Facebook Platform which will allow you to opt out of providing data to third party websites such as Pandora or Yelp. [Facebook Blog]
