U.S. Ranked 26 In Broadband Tests

Ookla, the company behind the Speedtest conducted a study about which countries have the fastest Internet. It turns out that South Korea has the fastest. South Koreans experience on 34.14M bps (bits-per-second) on average. The worldwide average is 7.67M bps. Sudan has the lowest average at 340K bps. The rankings are as follows for the top 5.

1. South Korea (34.14M bps)
2. Latvia (24.29M bps)
3. The Republic of Moldova (21.37M bps)
4. Japan (20.29M bps)
5. Sweden (19.78M bps)

The United States is ranked #26 at 10.16M bps. The city of San Jose, California has the fastest U.S. connection at 15.03M bps. Alaska had the slowest at 2.77M bps. The study was only conducted in countries that had at least 75,000 unique IP addresses. [ComputerWorld]
