Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has released information about how to sell books on their iBookstore application. Authors on the iBookstore is a way to publish books and sell them without the need to go through publishers or agents. To sell a book, the author must have a 13-digit ISBN and must have the content in ePub format. The book would also need to be validated through epubcheck 1.0.5. Publishers would also need a valid U.S. tax ID, an iTunes Store account, and an Intel-based Mac on OS X 10.5 or later. [MacLife]
