Hon Hai Precious Industry, parent company of Foxconn announced a wage increase by about 20% for employees at the Foxconn division in China. Employee wages will be increased from $131 per month to $157 per month.

The reason for the wage increase is because there has been a string of suicides recently. About 10 people have committed suicide because of work conditions at Foxconn.

The Foxconn plant in China manufactures the iPod and iPhone devices for Apple. Foxconn also does work for HP, Dell, and Sony Ericsson.
