Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is taking on Amazon.com’s S3 services on directly. Google has launched a new service called Google Storage for Developers. Google Storage for Developers is highly scalable, offers high-bandwidth storage, and has an RESTful API to make uploading/downloading content simple.

Nonprofit agency Target Hunger has set up a Twitter (@TargetHunger) and Facebook (account) to help communicate with those interested in charity work. Target Hunger is a United Way agency that was established in 1989 as a grassroots, community-based program. Every month Target Hunger distributes food to 9,800 needy people in Houston, Texas.

Zynga Acquires Chinese Gaming Company XPD Media

Zynga has acquired Chinese gaming company XPD Media. Part of the deal includes Zynga’s opening of a gaming studio in Beijing. XPD is one of the biggest social gaming companies in China with about 40 employees. XPD CEO Robin Chan is also an angel investor in Twitter and Square. Bing Maps have one-upped Google Maps by adding additional information along a route that you choose. This includes information about parking spots and places that have the cheapest gas. This is enough to make me want to switch to Bing Maps from Google Maps. Bing uses parking data from third-party websites like BestParking.com. Microsoft Silverlight might be required. Twitter stream platform company TweetDeck has raised $3 million in Series B from incubator company Betaworks. Other investors include Ron Conway, Danny Rimer, Accelerator Group, Roger Ehrenberg, and Howard Lindzon. TweetDeck now has a total of $5.3 million in funding.
