HP Acquires Linux-Based Hyperspace Platform For $12 Million

Hewlett Packard has acquired the Hyperspace platform for $12 million. Hyperspace is a quick booting operating system that is based on Linux. Hyperspace is not a full on OS itself so it is generally used in conjunction with other operating systems.

What HP plans to do with Hyperspace is a big question mark. Perhaps install the platform on laptop products? Perhaps integrate it with webOS somehow?

Hyperspace was developed by Phoenix Technologies.
