Google announced the Droid X with their partners Verizon and Motorola.  Google also revealed an interesting statistic: about 160,000 Android powered devices are being activated per day (or about 2 per second).  There are currently 60 compatible Android devices across 21 OEMs, 59 carriers, and in 49 countries.  Google is also open sourcing Android 2.2 (Froyo) to partners who manufacture Android phones around the world.  The announcement was made by Google VP of Engineering Andy Rubin.
