Google Stops Redirecting To

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) made an announcement back in January that said that they have decided to no longer censor results on, the Chinese version of their search engine. Three months after that, Google started redirecting traffic to, the Hong Kong version of their website.

The Chinese government was not happy with this so they responded by saying
that if Google does not censor their content, then they will not be able to renew their Internet Content Provider license on June 30th — meaning will go offline.

Now will be censored, but there is a link on the homepage to which will remained to have uncensored content. The shutting down of would be a “prospect dreaded by many of our Chinese users,” according to Google Chief Legal Officer David Drummond.
