Cablevision Acquiring Bresnan Communications For $1.365 Billion


Cablevision announced that they will be paying over $1.36 billion for cable services operator company Bresnan Communications.  One of Bresnan Communications owners include Providence Equity Partners and Quadrangle Group.  The deal is all-cash.  Cablevision beat other companies at the acquisition.  Another bidder included Suddenlink Communications.

Foursquare Button Added To WSJ For To-Do Place List


Foursquare has added a “Add to Foursquare” button to the pages of the The Wall Street Journal.  This allows visitors to have one click access for filling up to-do lists.  While WSJ is a great place to start, I think adding a Foursquare button to Yelp and other restaurant review websites could benefit from this button too.  Below is a screenshot of how the button looks on the WSJ article.

Forget VJs! MTV Looking To Hire Twitter Jockey.


MTV is on the hunt to hire a social media expert for a position called Twitter Jockey.  The Twitter Jockey will interact with MTV fans constantly.  Currently MTV has 18 potential candidates, but is looking to hire two more.

Microsoft Offers Successful iPhone Developers Money To Get On Windows Phone Marketplace


Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is investing a lot of time and money on Windows Phone 7.  PocketGamer has reported that Microsoft is contacting several “successful iPhone developers” to port their applications to WP7 Marketplace for cash in return.  However porting apps over won’t be easy for developers.

Sony PS3 Launching Stereoscopic 3D Gaming


The Sony PlayStation 3 is equipped to handle stereoscopic 3D games.  This is a perfect technology to use if you plan to buy a 3D capable HDTV.  Sony also announced the 3D capable BRAVIA HDTV today. Man Busted For Attempting To Trade Pot For An iPad On Craigslist [VIDEO]


The police has arrested a 20 year old man in Gilbert, Arizona who attempted to trade an iPod and marijuana for an iPad.  Jacob Walker placed an ad on Craigslist about the trade and even included a picture of the marijuana.  Above is a screenshot of the ad.  Undercover police detectives arranged to meet Walker and the intersection of Val Vista and Warner.  Walker arrived to the meeting point with the items and presented the marijuana to the police officer.  Joseph Velarde, who was with Walker was also arrested.  Below is news coverage of the event.

Sigma SD15 Digital SLR Camera Arriving June 25th

Social Gaming Company Myotopia Acquired For $18 Million


888 Holdings has acquired social gaming company Myotopia for $18 million.  Myotopia has developed several successful Facebook games such as Bingo Island 2 and Pacific Poker.  Myotopia also developed games for mobile platforms such as the iPhone and Android.  If Myotopia hits several milestones by 2011, the acquisition price could hit $48 million.  Myotopia previously raised money from SK Telecom Ventures and Benhamou Global Ventures. Starbucks Getting Free WiFi Starting July 1


Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) will have free WiFi starting July 1st according to CEO Howard Schultz.  He announced the news at the Wired Conference in New York.  Yahoo! is working with Starbucks on the free WiFi offer.
