Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has announced that they have sold 600,000 iPhone 4 devices through pre-orders yesterday. This is 10 times bigger than the first day of the iPhone 3GS pre-order sales on the first day about one year ago. As a result, AT&T had to stop taking advance orders for Apple’s iPhone 4 because of inventory issues and unexpectedly high demand. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) plans to spend $80 million to market Office 2010. Office 2010 hit the shelves earlier this week, but the hype around it was mild due to the iPhone 4 pre-order news and the announcement of the Kinect. Digg founder Kevin Rose is starting a new show called fforward (pronounced forward — he sure loves adding an extra letter to a dictionary word for his companies/shows). He plans to leave the show Diggnation, hosted by Revision3 around the end of the year. It will be a weekly live streaming tech/geek culture show according to Rose in an interview with TechCrunch. Samsung has unveiled a new Blu-Ray drive with a 5.25″ form factor and comes with Cyberlink Powerproducer software to make DVDs and CDs. The drive has a 12X BD-ROM read speed, 8X BDR/RE/DL read, 48X CD-ROM, 40X CD-RW, 16X DVD+/-R, 12X DVD-RAM, 8X DVD+/-R, Dual Layer recording, 8X DVD+/-RW, and 6X DVD-RW.
