PilotHandwriting is a free web service that can convert your handwriting into a font. Using your handwriting font, you can make e-mail more personalized. PilotHandwriting was created by the Pilot pen company. The way it works is as follows: print out a template and write the corresponding letters in each box. Then upload your filled out template back to the website. However the down side is that you cannot download the font you created. AOL has sold off DMS Insights to online market research company uSamp. Many people did not know AOL owned DMS Insights because the acquisition was made over a decade ago before the Time Warner deal took place. The deal is estimated to be worth about $3-$4 million.

The “userland” jailbreak vulnerability that is used as part of the Spirit jailbreak tool was not patched by Apple.  @planetbeing and @chpwn was able to get root access to the iPhone 4 using code from @comex’s userland jailbreak method. However there won’t be a carrier unlock for the iPhone 4 anytime soon because the baseband runs on a different OS than previous models. This means that the ultrasn0w unlocking tool needs to be completely rewritten. And Joshua Hill said that the unlock won’t be released anytime soon because it contains some of Apple’s proprietary code.

Digg CEO and founder Kevin Rose sent out a tweet recently about how he heard from a reliable source that Google plans to launch a Facebook competitor called Google Me.

Pat Trueman, the former Chief of the U.S. Department of Justice Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section said that ICANN’s decision on .xxx domain names was “foolish and unnecessary.” Trueman also worked with Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush at the Justice Department. ICANN approved the .xxx top level domain name for websites related to pornography.

The Social Network, a movie based on the life of Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has just released a trailer. The film features Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg. The movie also stars Rashida Jones, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield, and Joseph Mazzello. Check out the trailer below.
