Facebook and Windows Live Messenger has been integrated with Microsoft Outlook. The News Feed of your Facebook friends can be seen from within Outlook.

Last year Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) launched a plugin for Outlook called Outlook Social Connector. This syncs social networking feeds with contacts. LinkedIn was the first social network to be integrated with this plugin. The plugin will soon be released for Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 as well.

As of right now, you do not have the ability to “like” posts or update your status through Outlook. Microsoft owns about 1.7% of Facebook after they invested $240 million into the company a couple of years ago.
