One of the best features on the Apple iPhone 4 is the real-time communication tool called FaceTime. With FaceTime, users are able to speak to each other while being able to see each other through video much like a webcam. This service is currently only available on the iPhone 4. However BoyGeniusReport has shed light on the matter of integrating FaceTime with other Apple devices such as the iPod and the iPad.
Apple would have you register your Apple ID with your [non-iPhone] device/s in order to start a FaceTime call using your email address. Apple will also reportedly make use of push notifications to deliver the incoming FaceTime connection requests. Even though FaceTime may be developed with non-iPhone devices, there may be problems between a non-iPhone to iPhone FaceTime session. However, Apple developers are fairly confident that FaceTime will eventually be made a universal feature on Apple devices.
