Squarespace, a popular hosted content service that started several years ago, has raised $38 million from Accel Partners and Index Ventures. A representative from each VC firm will join the board of directors at Squarespace as a result of this round of funding. Jonathan Klein, founder and CEO of Getty Images is also joining the board.
This is Squarespace’s first round of funding. Squarespace’s services are not free. Prices start at $8 and could go as high as $50. Squarespace was started in 2003 by Anthony Casalena when he was at the age of 21.
