There is now Wi-Fi service on about one-third of all passenger planes. However many travelers still believe Wi-Fi on planes is expensive. On some planes, it could cost about $13 for about three hours of service.

One of the most commonly used airline Wi-Fi companies is Itascla, Illinois based company Gogo. Gogo is used by eight carriers and is on 968 aircraft. Southwest Airlines has 6 planes that use Wi-Fi services from Row 44 Inc. Aircell’s website has an unlimited Gogo subscription for $20 for the first month and $35 per month after.
