Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has announced that the sales of e-books for their Kindle e-reader product has outsold the number of the hardcover books during the last three months. Amazon.com sold 143 Kindle books for every 100 hardcover books.

In the last four weeks, Amazon sold 180 digital e-books for every 100 hardcover books. This news is “astonishing when you consider that we’ve been selling hardcover books for 15 years, and Kindle books for 33 months,” stated Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos. Another reason why e-books have been sold is because there is Kindle applications available on the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, BlackBerry, and Android.
