MobileCrunch found out that Research In Motion now owns the domain name BlackPad.com. The discovery was made by doing a WHOIS lookup on the domain. Should have used private domain registration eh, RIM. The domain name was registered just a few days ago.

It is clear RIM is highly considering to develop a tablet device. “BlackPad” could be either the official name or the code name.
