Michigan Auto Co. EcoMotors Company Receives $23.5M From Bill Gates and Khosla Ventures

EcoMotors International has raised $23.5 million from Menlo Park based VC firm Khosla Ventures founded by Vinod Khosla and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. This new round of funding will allow EcoMotors to complete the engineering and testing of the Opoc engine.

Xactly Raises $7.5 Million

San Jose, California based company Xactly is a software company that has raised $7.5 million in funding. This is Xactly’s fifth round. Xactly plans to raise a total of $12.5 million according to an SEC filing.

The Huffington Post has acquired Pollster.com from poll firm YouGov Polimetrix. Pollster pulls political polls from big polling firms and integrates them into their own charts. Best Buy Offers Brian Maupin His Job Back, But He Doesn’t Take It

Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY) planned to fire Brian Maupin for making a couple of videos that refer to Best Buy. Initially we believed that he was going to be fired over a couple of videos where he made a couple of salespeople rip on the HTC EVO and the iPhone 4. Maupin was given a stay of execution of his hourly job, but he decided not to go back to the job. “I’m not sure if it would be comfortable returning to Best Buy considering the circumstances… but I will definitely consider all options,” said Maupin. Maupin said he decided not to go back so that he could “survey my current career plans.” Below are a couple of videos that Maupin made:

While Griffin charges you $50 for the A-Frame tabletop stand for the iPad, this DIY idea could cost you nothing assuming you have some leftover pencils and rubberbands at home. Simply tie the pencils with the rubberbands as displayed in the image below.
