HTC has just posted their financial figures for the second quarter. HTC’s revenues increased 63% for the second quarter over the past year. HTC is the largest Android manufacturing company. Some of the phones that HTC manufactures using Android includes the EVO 4G, the Nexus One, the Droid Incredible, the HTC Dream, the HTC Magic, and the HTC Hero.

TweetUp, a service that focuses on advertising and searching Twitter, has made two acquisitions. TweetUp bought Twitter Android client Twidroid. TweetUp acquired news aggregator service popurls.

Nokia Corporation is selling off their wireless modem business for $200 million to Renesas Electronics. The assets are expected to transfer in Q4 2010. The assets include Nokia’s 1,100 R&D resources in four countries, several patents, and wireless modem technologies for GSM, HSPA, and LTE networks.

TmoNews got their hands on a Motorola Charm and took the first image of it. The Motorola Charm has a touchpad feature on the back of the device. The phone runs on Android (version unknown) and the screen is about 3 inches. The phone is currently also known as the Motorola Basil. [TMONews]

MySpace, the social network overshadowed by Facebook needs a new ad partner because their deal with Google will be expiring soon. Google made a $900 million agreement with News Corporation for the rights to sell ads across MySpace.com and other News Corp owned websites. However MySpace fell short on traffic and their contract with Google is expiring in August.

Online Indian portal company Sify Technologies Limited (NASDAQ:SIFY) made a proposal to lie undersea cables connecting Delhi and Singapore. Raju Vegesna, Chairman and Managing Director at Sify said that the discussions are currently in beginning stages.

The rumor was that Thing Labs, parent company of Twitter client Brizzly was going to be acquired by Foursquare. Jason Shellen, CEO of Thing Labs quickly squashed that rumor on a tweet that he sent out. “Brizzly/Thing Labs is not selling to Foursquare. I do love a good saucy rumor though.
