Tumblr Updates iPhone App To Support Video

Tumblr is growing at a rapid pace. They hit 6 million users and just hit about 1.5 billion pageviews per month (Quantcast). About a year ago, Tumblr saw about 255 million pageviews. In November of last year, it was up to 420 million pageviews.

Rumor: Yahoo! Has Interest In Buying Bit.ly

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is rumored to have an interest in buying New York based URL shortening and tracking company Bit.ly. The talks are still in early stages. However if Bit.ly plans to sell, we could expect it to go for over $10 million given that they raised $3.5 million in VC funding from Ron Conway and other angel investors.

Foursquare In Talks With Big 3 Search Engines For Partnership

Check-in geolocation service Foursquare has grown at a rapid pace. The data collected by Foursquare is valuable because it harvests information about how often people visit a specific establishment. Now Foursquare has the interest of Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo! “Our data generates hugely interesting trends which would enrich search,” stated Foursquare co-founder Dennis Crowley, who previously sold a company to Google.

Samsung Responds To Steve Jobs’ Presentation

This Friday Steve Jobs made a comparison between the iPhone 4 and other smartphones. Jobs pointed out the antenna problems contained within the BlackBerry Bold 9700, the HTC Droid Eris, and the Samsung Omnia II on stage. However Samsung personally responded to the claims. Nokia Siemens Networks Acquiring Motorola’s Wireless Network Assets For $1.2 Billion

Nokia Siemens Networks and Motorola, Inc. has announced that the two companies have entered an agreement. Nokia will spend $1.2 billion to acquire the majority of Motorola’s wireless network infrastructure assets for $1.2 billion in cash. Both companies expect the deal to close at the end of 2010. Photo Ad Network Pixazza Raises $12 Million In Series B

Photo ad network startup company Pixazza, known as the “AdSense for photos” has raised $12 million in Series B in a round led by Shasta Ventures. Pixazza raised $5.75 million in their Series A of funding. Another investor in Pixazza includes Google Ventures. Pixazza turns text on their pages into clickable ads — for example: if you like the boots in a photo, you will see an ad pop-up for it. Pixazza reaches about 25 million unique visitors per month or 8 billion image impressions per year across their ad network. [AllThingsD]
AMD Makes $1.65 Billion In Q2 Revenue

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) has made $1.65 billion in revenue for the second quarter. However AMD is still in the red with a net loss of $43 million. AMD made 5% more revenue in the first quarter of 2010 and a 40% increase since Q2 of 2009 when they lost $330 million. [BusinessWire]
