Investopedia has been sold to ValueClick for $42 million in cash. Investopedia was founded in 1999 and ValueClick bought it because of their content, traffic, team, and ad company partnerships. Forbes put Investopedia up for sale in June.

Investopedia was started in 1999. The company publishes financial news and has a financial terms glossary. Forbes acquired Investopedia in 2007.

Investopedia receives 2.2 million unique U.S. visitors per month, has about 3.1 million newsletter subscribers, and 1.7 million e-mail subscribers. Investopedia is expected to make $10 million in revenue at the end of the year.
