Facebook has unveiled a new live video streaming channel called Facebook Live. America Ferrara of Ugly Betty and How To Train Your Dragon stopped by Facebook’s headquarters in Palo Alto to announce her new movie called The Dry Land.

Facebook Live will be used to announce company events, host press events, and conduct live chats with Facebook engineers. Facebook’s annual f8 developer conference will also be streamed from Facebook Live.

Facebook is creating an application called Facebook Live, which could be added to any Facebook Page. This will allow Facebook Page operators to attract more fans and interact with potential customers.

Facebook Live widgets can be embedded on to numerous pages. The Player widget, the Video Library widget, and the Chat widget can also be embedded. Users can share videos on Twiter, Google Buzz, Delicious, Digg, and MySpace. Shortened URLs are created for Facebook Live videos.
