Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has announced that they have hit the 300 million download mark for iTunes U. It took about three years to hit this mark. About 800 universities have iTunes U websites. Half of that number of universities distribute content on iTunes too.

Earlier this year Amsterdam based software consulting company Software Improvement Group warned the government not to implement OpenOffice.org unless Oracle proved they will properly maintain the software. Chinese Internet company Tencent has acquired Comsenz, a company that received investment from Google. Comsenz is best known for their Discuz discussion board platform and Tencent is well known for their IM service QQ. Google invested $1 million in Comsenz 2 years ago. Comsenz isn’t the only Chinese Internet company Google has invested in. Google also has equity in Xunlei and Top100. Comsenz will now operate as a Tencent subsidiary and will run independently. Many people on Twitter and Facebook are reporting a hacker scam that is taking place on PayPal and Apple iTunes. There is a security hole in iTunes accounts that are linked to PayPal. Scammers have found a way to charge a lot of money to iTunes through the accounts of other people’s PayPal.
